Male', MALDIVES - Victory signs a two year deal with their new foreign players, Marcos (Argentina) and Thiella (Croatia), today in a ceremony held at their office at FAM house.

Vice Chairman (Paris) Ahmed Naseem signed on behalf of Victory and head coach Mauroof Ahmed was also presented at the ceremony.

Mauroof explained their decision to sign a two year contract with the players.

“If we want to bring them to another season we have to pay the agent’s fee again. So we decided like this, though we have to pay two month’s (season break) salary” Mauroof said.
Mauroof further added that the new players are good and with them the weak areas of the team will be stronger. He then confirmed that the new signings doesn’t mean Victory swept away their financial difficulties.

“Our main problem right from the start of the season was lack of quality players in team’s backbone, defense and midfield. But the addition of these players is a good solution for this problem”

“With their joining team’s defense improved and as they play more games with the team their performance will be improve”

After the signing Argentinean player Marcos, one of the best foreign players in Maldives in this season, said he is happy and will try to get results that will satisfy the supporters.

“I am very happy that I signed” Marcos said with a help of an interpreter.

“I will try to bring success to the club and make the supporters happy. I will also try to take Victory to the second round of AFC Cup” added Marcos, whose only game of the season came against Home United of Singapore.
